Deferred Payments & Catch-Up Processing

Deferred payments occur when eligible Partner earnings are calculated but cannot yet be paid out. This typically happens when ACH is not configured, revenue has not fully cleared, or validation requirements have not been met. This document explains how deferred earnings are handled and how catch-up processing works.

Why Payments May Be Deferred

Partner earnings may be deferred for several reasons:

  • ACH onboarding has not been completed through Stripe.
  • Revenue from a Child Organization has not yet been successfully collected.
  • A recent invoice is still within a settlement or validation period.
  • Payment was previously attempted but failed.

In all of these cases, earnings remain accrued but are not included in the current monthly payout run.

How Deferred Earnings Are Tracked

Deferred earnings continue to appear in your accrued totals within the Partner Dashboard. They are not lost or reset due to timing delays alone.

The system automatically tracks which earnings are eligible for payout and which are still pending validation or configuration.

Catch-Up Processing

Once the condition causing the deferral is resolved, eligible earnings are included in the next monthly payout run.

For example:

  • If ACH is completed after a missed payout date, accrued eligible earnings will be included in the following month’s payout.
  • If a Child Organization’s invoice is successfully collected after a delay, associated earnings will be included in the next payout cycle.

No manual request is required for catch-up processing. The system automatically includes all eligible deferred earnings in the next scheduled payout.

Payout Expiration Considerations

If your Partner agreement includes a payout expiration timeframe, that expiration still applies even if payments were deferred. Deferred earnings remain subject to the original eligibility terms.

What You Should Do

To minimize deferred payments:

  • Complete ACH onboarding as early as possible.
  • Monitor your Partner Dashboard regularly.
  • Ensure Child Organizations remain active and in good billing standing.

The automated payout system is designed to ensure accuracy and fairness, while catch-up processing ensures that eligible earnings are paid once all requirements are satisfied.
