What Discount Codes Are Used For
Discount codes are the primary mechanism used in the Partner Program to associate new customer organizations with your Partner account. When a new organization signs up using your discount code, that organization becomes a “child organization” tied to you for payout purposes.
How Discount Codes Work
Each Partner can generate one or more discount codes in the Partner section of the portal. These codes can then be shared with prospective customers.
When a new customer creates an Organization and enters your discount code during signup:
- The Organization is linked to your Partner account.
- Any eligible payouts generated from that Organization are attributed to you.
- The discount associated with the code is automatically applied to the customer’s subscription.
Creating Child Organizations
A “child organization” is any Organization that signs up using one of your active discount codes. Once linked, that Organization will appear in your Partner Dashboard and will be included in your payout calculations according to your Partner terms.
The linking occurs automatically at the time the Organization is created and cannot be retroactively applied after signup.
Why Discount Codes Are Required
Discount codes ensure that referrals are tracked accurately and transparently. Because billing and payouts are automated, the system relies on the code being entered during the initial Organization creation process.
If a customer does not use your discount code during signup, the Organization will not be associated with your Partner account.
Managing Your Codes
From the Partner section of the portal, you can create, review, and manage your discount codes. Each code can be shared with customers through email, website links, or other marketing channels.
Using discount codes consistently is the simplest way to ensure your referrals are properly tracked and credited.
