Upgrading or Downgrading Product Plans
This document explains what happens when an Organization’s product plan is upgraded or downgraded in Simplified Solutions. Plan changes are designed to be immediate, predictable, and easy to manage without disrupting enrolled devices.
Product plans are applied at the Organization level and control which features are available to all devices within that Organization.
Changing a Product Plan
Administrators can change an Organization’s product plan from the Organization Details page.
When a plan change is submitted, it takes effect immediately. Devices do not need to be reinstalled or re-enrolled for the new plan to apply.
Upgrading a Plan
When an Organization is upgraded to a higher product plan, additional features become available right away.
For example, upgrading may enable advanced security protections or backups that were not previously active. Once enabled, these features are applied automatically to enrolled devices according to the Organization’s policies.
Billing for the day of the upgrade reflects the upgraded plan, even if the change occurs partway through the day.
Downgrading a Plan
When an Organization is downgraded to a lower product plan, features that are not included in the new plan are disabled.
Devices continue to be monitored and managed based on the features available in the downgraded plan. No device reinstall is required.
Billing for the day of the downgrade still reflects the higher plan if it was active at any point during that day.
How Plan Changes Affect Billing
Billing is calculated daily. If an Organization changes plans during a billing day, devices are billed at the highest plan that applied during that day.
This ensures billing aligns with feature availability and avoids partial-day calculations.
When to Change Plans
Plan changes are useful when your Organization’s needs evolve.
- Upgrade when additional security, monitoring, or backup features are needed.
- Downgrade when advanced features are no longer required.
Because changes are immediate and do not require redeployment, you can adjust your plan as your environment changes while keeping device management simple.
