Distributing Installers

Once an installer has been created, it can be distributed to the devices you want to protect. Simplified Solutions provides two ways to distribute installers, depending on how you prefer to deploy them.

Both options result in the same outcome: the device is enrolled into your Organization when the installer is run.

Downloading and Distributing the Installer Yourself

You can download the installer file directly from the portal and distribute it using your preferred method.

Common approaches include:

  • Copying the installer to the device manually.
  • Sharing it through an internal file share or secure transfer tool.
  • Including it in an existing deployment or imaging process.

This option works well when you have direct access to the devices or an established deployment workflow.

Simplified Solutions also allows you to share an installer using a secure download link.

From the Installers list, select the share icon next to an installer to open the sharing options.

This is useful when:

  • A device is managed remotely.
  • You want to send the installer to a user by email or chat.
  • You do not want to handle the file directly.

When sharing an installer, you can either use an existing active link or create a new one.

When creating a new link, you must choose how long the link will remain valid.

Available expiration options are:

  • 1 day
  • 3 days
  • 7 days

After the expiration period, the link automatically becomes inactive and can no longer be used.

Running an installer enrolls a device and can affect billing.

For this reason, shared installer links are time-limited to help prevent unintended use and ensure you stay in control of when and how devices are added.

Choosing the Right Distribution Method

If you manage the devices directly, downloading and distributing the installer yourself may be the simplest option.

If devices are remote or managed by end users, sharing an installer link is often faster and more convenient.

Both methods are secure and supported, allowing you to choose the approach that best fits your setup process.
